Hundreds of children undergo free cardiac surgery at Sathya Sai Hospital amid pandemic

Raipur, Sept 10 (UNI) Amid reports of difficulties in admission and treatment of patients in prestigious hospitals across the country in COVID situation Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Chhattisgarh has performed cardiac surgery on more than one hundred children at free of cost, setting a great example of spirit of services.
Giving this information on the occasion of ‘Jeevan Upahar Utsav’, the president of the institute Mr Srinivas said that Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital had been successfully treating children suffering from heart diseases, with the cooperation of Chhattisgarh government and society. Chhattisgarh has carved out its distinct identity all over the world in prevention of heart diseases in children. People from all the countries of the world have been approaching this institution for the treatment of heart diseases in their children. Irrespective of COVID situation treatment of children suffering from heart diseases continued in this institute, he said, adding that more than one hundred children from different states of the country have been successfully operated upon for heart diseases.
He thanked the Government of Chhattisgarh and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for arranging 16 flats in Nawa Raipur to quarantine children and their families from other parts of the country in COVID situation besides making available 400 PPE kits and facility of free testing of COVID samples in the area. Dr Rajni Pandey of the institute said that Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital has so far provided medical facilities related to cardiovascular disease to more than one lakh children of India and abroad including Chhattisgarh. More than 12 thousand children have so far been successfully operated upon for heart diseases, Dr Pandey added. The management has launched Dr Rajeshwari Sangwari C Clinic under ‘Divya Mata Evan Shishu Karyakram’ with an objective of providing free treatment facility to children, adolescent girls and pregnant women.
