Chhattisgarh registers 2942 new COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths

Raipur, Sep 25 (UNI) With 2942 new COVID-19 cases the tally of positive cases in the state rose to to 98565 on Friday during the last 24 hours whereas 11 more patients succumbed to the virus mounting the death toll to 777.
Meanwhile, 710 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery taking the number of cured to 43960. In addition to this 5125 patients have been discharged from home isolation.
According to information received from health department, out of 2942 fresh Coronavirus positive patients maximum 580 belong to Raipur whereas 396 patients were found in Durg, 167 in Rajnandgaon, 62 in Balod, 82 in Bemetara, 52 in Kabirdham, 81 in Dhamtari, 64 in Baloda-Bazaar, 52 in Mahasamund, 70 in Gariaband, 218 in Bilaspur, 213 in Raigarh, 64 in Korba, 156 in Janjgir Champa, 47 in Mungeli, six in Gourela-Pendra-Marwahi, 56 in Sarguja, 26 in Koriya, 30 in Surajpur, 13 in Balrampur, 29 in Jashpur, 104 in Bastar, 61 in Kondagaon, 133 in Dantewada, 37 in Sukma, 63 in Kanker, 22 in Narayanpur and 56 in Bijapur. Two patients have come from other states.

UP: Six get lifer for murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005

Lucknow, March 29 (UNI) Six persons were held guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment along with a combined penalty of Rs 11.65 lakh by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here on Friday in more than 19-year-old case related to murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal and his associates, an official spokesman said here.
