Haryana Min calls upon people to deem nature as divine

Chandigarh, Oct 8 (UNI) Haryana Forests and Wildlife Minister Kanwar Pal called upon the people to deem nature as divine and said the government has been making consistent efforts to conserve nature likewise the people of the state should step forward to cooperate to conserve various species of plants and wildlife which are on the verge of extinction.
The Minister said the urge for development in humans is the primary reason for decline in the forest area, while on one hand it has adversely affected the environment on the other as there has been a sharp decline in the wild animals as well.
Mr Kanwar Pal was the chief guest during the Wildlife Week Celebrations organized by Forests and Wildlife Department from October 2 to 8 in the programme organized at Jatayu Conservation Breeding Centre in village Jodhpur, located on the border of the Bir Shikargaha Wildlife Sanctuary which is a joint project of Haryana and the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS).
