Swachhta Pakhwada to be observed across Haryana from Oct 2 to 17: Vij

Chandigarh, Sep 30 (UNI) Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij said that ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ (Cleanliness Fortnight) will be observed from October 2 to 17 across the state, under which all the Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipalities will organize virtual events on Swachh Haryana, Swachh Bharat and Sampan Bharat.
Mr Vij said that during ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’, a special campaign will be launched for cleanliness of sewage and drains and safe disposal of waste. For this event, District Municipal Commissioner will be the Nodal Officer at the district level and the Public Health Engineering Department, Haryana Urban Development Authority and Local Bodies will work together to make this campaign successful, he added.
The Minister said that during this event, the sanitary workers who have been performing excellent job will be encouraged.
