ECI disqualifies 6 candidates contested Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Sibin C

Chandigarh, Aug 5 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has disqualified six candidates, who contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, through orders.
Punjab's chief Electoral officer (CEO) Sibin C stated here on Monday that these candidates have not submitted their election expenses as per section 78 of Representation of the People's Act to the Commission within the specified timeframe, thus rendering them ineligible to contest elections for the next three years under section 10 A of the Representation of the People's Act, 1951.
He further said that these six candidates were from Gurdaspur district.
