Srinagar, Aug 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari said on Saturday that the party will contest 60 seats in the upcoming Assembly election in the Union Territory.
According to the party president, of the total 60 seats, the party would contest 40 seats in Kashmir and 20 seats in Jammu region.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar’s Chanapora area, from where he is likely to contest the assembly election, Bukhari said the party will have no alliance with any party.
Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases from September 18. The results will be declared on October 4.
“Neither we will give support to anyone, nor we will take support from any party,” he said.
Stating that the party got a big lesson in the Lok Sabha polls, Bukhari also said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are not happy with “giving or taking support to any one(party).”
Asked about the Congress and National Conference alliance, he however, said that the two parties have a secret alliance with PDP and BJP.
“It is an alliance between PDP, NC, Congress, CPI-M and BJP alliance,” the Apni Party President said, adding 'not everything happens in public and something happens behind the curtains'.
