Hamirpur (HP), Jan 21(UNI) Around sixty-four per cent of the total voters have cast their votes in Hamirpur district by 1400 hrs, six hours after the starting of the polling for the Panchayati raj elections on Thursday.
The polling was peaceful and the bright sunshine helped the people to come out of their houses in large numbers to reach the polling stations for casting their votes.
Reports reaching here revealed that on the pattern of the first and second phase, aged voters of both sexes, new young voters and women came out in large numbers to exercise their right of franchise.
The voting will end at 1600 hrs and that will be followed by voting by the COVID-19 patients.
