Ellenabad bypoll: Lead of Abhay Chautala decreases after 11th round

Sirsa, Nov 2 (UNI) The lead of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Abhay Singh Chautala over his nearest BJP rival Gobind Kanda has decreased after the completion of 11th round of counting in the Ellenabad assembly segment in Haryana, here on Tuesdau.
Abhay Chautala (INLD) got 49,827 votes whereas his BJP rival Gobind Kanda received 45,866 votes thus the lead of the INLD candidate decreased to 3,961 votes.
Congress candidate Pawan Beniwal has been able to get 17,004 votes so far.
The by poll was necessitated after Abhay Singh Chautala resigned as the MLA from the seat in January in protest against three contentious central farm laws.

UP Congress changes 29 district chiefs just before assembly polls

Lucknow ,Jan 20(UNI) Apprehending revolt by over two dozen Congress district and city chiefs, who were denied tickets for the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, state Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu on Thursday changed 29 district chiefs.
Surprisingly the changes were made even when the process of polls is already on and is likely to hit the Party’s campaign trail. Congress Committee spokesperson Ashok Singh on Thursday confirmed that on the recommendation of the All India Congress Committee, working presidents of District/City Congress Committees have been appointed in many districts of Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect.
