Central University HP to launch 20-Credit compulsory skill course from academic session 2025-26

Dharamshala, Aug 6 (UNI) In a landmark step aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, Central University Dharamshala has announced the introduction of a compulsory 20-credit skill course for all students across departments, schools, and study centers starting from the academic session 2025-26.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal described the initiative as a matter of great pride for the university and a progressive leap toward holistic and practical education. “The objective of this course is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-life applications, grounding students in the cultural, environmental, and administrative fabric of society,” he said.
The newly introduced course will encompass a wide range of subjects such as Environment and Sustainability, Folk Literature, Folk Arts and Handicrafts, Folk Nomadism and Cultural Tourism, Public Administration, Public Management, Folk Science, and Folk Drama. These will be offered as 2-credit and 4-credit modules.
