Bhopal, Oct 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Thursday that Rs 25,000 each will be provided under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana (LLY) to daughters on college admission.
“Benefits of the scheme shall also be extended to female orphans. Ladli Laxmi Day will be celebrated at the state, district, block and gram panchayat levels,” Mr Chouhan was officially quoted as saying while addressing the Ladli Laxmi festival at the Minto Hall auditorium here.
The Chief Minister electronically transferred scholarship totalling Rs 5.99 crore into the accounts of 21,550 beneficiaries during the Ladli Laxmi Utsav.
“On the basis of the number of female births, Ladli Laxmi-friendly gram panchayats/villages shall be declared. The Women Finance and Development Corporation should prepare a portal for vocational training. Digital and Financial Literacy centres will be set up at every government school and girls’ hostel. The state government has earmarked Rs 47,200 cr for Ladlis’ welfare. In the six months of this financial year, 1.31 lakh more girls have been registered under LLY. Since the start of the scheme, scholarship amounting to Rs 185 cr has been disbursed to 6.62 lakh girls who have taken admission in classes 6, 9, 11 and 12,” he added.
