Haryana: HSAMB to undertake construction of 264 new rural link roads

Chandigarh, Sep 4 (UNI) With a view to facilitating farmers by providing better connectivity between villages and mandis, the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) will soon undertake construction of 264 new rural link roads with a total length of 691 km at a cost of Rs 265.82 crore, the government announced on Friday.
Stating this here, Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, said that the roads would be constructed in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Jind, Bhiwani, Hisar, Sirsa, Jhajjar, Sonepat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Rewari and Mahendragarh districts.
Funds for the work to the tune of Rs 207.65 crore would be sought from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the form of a soft loan under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund-26 scheme, he added.
