Student raped by van driver in Shahjahanpur, accused arrested

Shahjahanpur, Nov 5 (UNI) A class eighth student was sexually assaulted by a van driver in Kant area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Tuesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Rajesh Kumar said that the victim, a student of a private school Ramchandra Mission area, used to go by the van. "The van driver Shivanshu (20) used to take the student from her home to the school and drop her back home. On Monday morning, the driver took the student from her home to the school but instead of taking her to school, he took her to his home on some pretext," he said.
He said that after this the driver raped the student and threatened her that if she told anyone then he would kill her. "When the student returned home, she told the incident to her family members, after which a complaint regarding the matter was lodged in the police station on Monday," he said.
