UP: Woman killed, couple robbed on Bareilly-Wazirganj road; police launch investigation

Bareilly, July 31 (UNI) A tragic incident occurred late Wednesday night on the Bareilly-Wazirganj highway, where a woman lost her life during a robbery attempt.
The couple was returning home after visiting the Purnagiri temple when they were stopped by a group of unidentified miscreants.
According to police reports, the couple, Om Sharan and his wife Amarvati (35), residents of Vyuli village in Badaun district, were travelling by bike when they were intercepted near the Kanthari temple area around midnight. The assailants, armed with weapons, allegedly demanded valuables from the couple.

The elderly man narrowly escaped the fraud due to the alertness of bank staff, police said today.
