UP police warns stringent action in thrashing youth case in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Sep 11 (UNI) Taking cognisance of video about a youth, who was allegedly thrashed and forced to lick his own spit in Barhalganj area of this Uttar Pradesh district earlier this week, the Gorakhpur police on Friday registered a case and started investigation.
According to Gorakhpur SP South, Vipul Srivastav, ''We took cognisance of a viral video, in which some people were seen beating a youth of Khutbhar village in Barhalganj area. The case will be investigated and stern action will be taken against the culprits.''
''They stopped my bike, started abusing, then thrashed me badly and made me lick my spit. Later, they called me and threatened not to report to police. However on Wednesday, they themselves posted the video of the assault on social media,'' the victim said, after registering a complaint against two named and four unidentified assailants with the Barhalganj police station.
