Shahjahanpur (UP), Nov 7 (UNI) A 26-year-old youth accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl in the Kant area of Shahjahanpur district has been arrested in an encounter with police in which police personnel was also injured, a senior officer said here on Thursday.
The girl was sleeping in her home with her family on Tuesday night when a man from the same village picked her up. When the family did not find the girl on her bed at night, they searched for her in the village as well as in nearby places.
The girl was found by her family members near a tube well in the fields 1 km away from the village on Wednesday morning. The family members then informed the police who reached the spot and admitted the girl to the Government Medical College
