110 booked for power theft in UP's Etawah

Etawah, Aug 29 (UNI) Under a drive to reduce line loss, the Power Department has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against 110 individuals for power theft in this Uttar Pradesh district, Executive Engineer Rahul Babu Katiyar said on Saturday.
Mr Katiyar said that eight feeders having more line loss were identified in the city area and a special drive is being conducted on them. After running a drive in the city areas, three teams caught 110 consumers engaged in power theft and an FIR has been registered against all of them.
The Department has put three sub-division officers for intensive checking in the city. These officers will visit colonies and streets along with a police force and after identifying those who were involved in power theft, will collect a fine from them after registering an FIR.
