Unidentified persons booked for attack on BJP MLA in UP

Deoria, Nov 17 (UNI) Unidentified persons have been booked for allegedly attacking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Salempur MLA Kali Prasad in the Salempur area here, police sources said on Tuesday.
As per sources, BJP MLA Kali Prasad was coming in his four-wheeler on Monday night while a procession was also passing by for the immersion of Goddess Lakshmi near Paran Chapra village of the area. The procession had a tractor and two trolleys attached with it and two artists were dancing on it.
As per the MLA, his vehicle was behind the procession for some time but as soon as he passed the tractor-trolley, someone fired from behind. He had a narrow escape in the alleged attack. The MLA has told the police that he does not have enmity with anybody.
