Punjab Police recovers 18 quintals poppy husk from Moga, 11 booked

Moga, Nov 2 (UNI) Punjab Police on Tuesday recovered 90 bags (20 kg each) of poppy husk, weighing 1800 kg, from a godown situated at Badduwal Bypass in Dharamkot sub-division of this district and also impounded a truck and an MUV from there.
Sharing details, Director General of Police (DGP) Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota said that acting on a secret information, Moga SSP Surinderjit Singh Mand sent a police team to conduct a raid at the godown.
The police teams have managed to seize the poppy husk and booked 11 persons including Pippal Singh of Daulewala village, who has been serving 30 years sentence in jail under NDPS Act, the DGP said.
