BSF seizes 1.12 kg heroin stashed in sole of footwear from Punjab border

Jalandhar, Aug 23 (UNI) Border Security Force (BSF) seized 1.12 kg contraband suspected to be heroin from the area of responsibility of 103 Bn of the BSF in Ferozepur sector.
A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier's Headquarter of the BSF said here on Sunday that the BSF men during routine checking stopped five farmers suspected to be smugglers who were returning after completing agriculture work in their fields ahead of Border Security fence in the area of responsibility of Bn 103 BSF in Ferozepur sector and recovered 1.120 kg of contraband suspected to be heroin hidden in the cavities of the sole of their footwears to delude BSF troops deployed on Border Security Fence gates.
Value of the seized heroin is said to be more than Rs 5.5 crore in the international market.
