Four butchers arrested for selling meat at exorbitant rates in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar, Jul 29 (UNI) Police on Wednesday arrested four butchers for allegedly selling meat at exorbitant rates at Tral in south Kashmir district of Pulwama ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, which will be celebrated on Saturday.
A police spokesperson said that Police in Awantipora along with Executive Magistrates and Municipal Committee officials conducted market checking in Awantipora, Tral, Khrew and Pampore areas in Pulwama.
“The checking was aimed to ensure that only good quality items are put on sale and to curb black marketing and profiteering of essential commodities,” he said, adding erring shopkeepers were fined on spot by the Executive Magistrates.
