Srinagar, Jul 20 (UNI) A constable of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) shot himself dead with his service rifle in the outskirt of Srinagar city on Monday, official sources said.
They said panic gripped in the camp of 29 Batallion CRPF this morning when firing shot was heard from a bathroom at Pantha Chowk in the outskirts of the city. However, other personnel rushed to the spot and found a constable Biswajit Dutta, who was on duty, in a pool of blood, they said, adding that he was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step, sources said.
