ACB produced chargesheet against former BMO and 16 officials in corruption case

Srinagar, Nov 14 (UNI) Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) produced chargesheet against ex-Block Medical Officer (BMO) Sheikh Farooq Nazir and sixteen other officials in a corruption case.
An official spokesman said, the ACB produced the chargesheet against one SheikhFarooq Nazir, who is a former BMO in Uri in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, and sixteen other officials in the court of special judge Anti Corruption for fraudulently withdrawing arrear money. The Case was registered with Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir now Anti-Corruption Bureau, against the accused and 16 other public servants produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-corruption Baramulla.
The instant Case was registered on outcome of a Preliminary Enquiry (PE) conducted into allegations that the accused public servants in furtherance of criminal conspiracy had by abuse of their official position dishonestly and fraudulently withdrawn an amount of Rs. 30, 70,000 on account of arrears in favour of 13 accused beneficiaries against monetary considerations. The spokesman said, despite having knowledge that the arrears amount withdrawn are not due to the beneficiaries as such have caused huge loss to the state exchequer. He said, the investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the public servants and after the accord of sanction from government for launching of persecution against the accused persons.
