SVB Haryana arrests 11 land grabbers in Faridabad

Chandigarh, Nov 18 (UNI) The State Vigilance Bureau (SVB), Haryana has arrested 11 accused in Faridabad, who have been involved in grabbing of plots which were meant to be allotted to the poor people in collusion with an official of HUDA (now Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran), Faridabad.
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson of State Vigilance Bureau said the matter is regarding the allotment of 36 Sq yard plots to people who were residing in the slums near Badarpur Border, Faridabad. In year 1993, HUDA vacated the land occupied by the slums and in lieu of the same, 36 Sq. Yard plots were allotted to 388 residents of those slums in Sector-30, Faridabad. However, 38 such plots were grabbed by ineligible people.
The spokesperson informed that the matter was enquired by the SVB and after obtaining permission from State Government, a criminal case under various sections and the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered. 15 accused had already been arrested in the matter, he said.
