Two arrested on charges of assaulting youth

Jalandhar, Aug 28(UNI) The Shahkot police on Friday arrested two persons on the charge of assaulting a youth and recovered an illicit weapon from them.
Station House Officer (SHO) Surindar Kumar said that the accused have been identified as Arshdeep Singh, a resident of Fakruwal village and Rohit, a resident of Mohalla Purani Gali, Shahkot. A country made illicit pistol was recovered from their possession. Arash Deep Singh (29), a resident of Ram Pur village had complained to the police that accused assaulted and threatened him and his brother with dire consequences on August 10 outside the village Gym and damaged his motor cycle.
SHO said that a case under sections 323,324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means), 427(mischief) 506(criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC was registered against the accused and others and sections of the Arms Act have been added in the FIR.
