Srinagar, Feb 25 (UNI) The Cluster University (CU), Srinagar, and Islamic university of science and technology (IUST) Awantipora have postponed all examinations scheduled to held on Monday and Tuesday.
A spokesman of the CU said "it is notified for the information of all the concerned candidates that all the examinations of B A, B Sc, B Com (UG Programmes) Semester II 2019 ( Regular & Backlog) and Entrance Test-2019 for Information Technology (Integrated) and Business Administration (Integrated + Professional) which were scheduled to be held today are hereby postponed."
He said the revised dates for the conduct of postponed papers shall be notified separately.
Meanwhile, IUST, Awantipora Pulwama has also postponed all examinations in view of the prevailing situation in the Kashmir valley.
“Fresh dates for the deferred exams will be notified separately later,” they said.
The divisional administration has already extended winter vacation in the Kashmir valley and schools will now reopen on March 4.
Situation in the Kashmir valley was very tense after rumours that Article 35 A and Article 370, pending in Supreme Court, will be tempered with. Besides crack down on separatists and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and sending 10,000 more paramilitary forces into Kashmir valley further added to speculations about these Articles.
