Punjab cabinet deliberates upon several pro-poor initiatives

Chandigarh, Sep 21 (UNI) The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in its maiden meeting late last night discussed the various pro-poor initiatives to be implemented in a time bound manner.
It was decided that these pro-poor initiatives will be launched from October 2, 2021 to mark the birth anniversary of father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi.
The Cabinet emphasized to lay special focus on the core sectors of education and health to provide affordable quality healthcare and education facility.

4752 cases of HIV in Himachal, 70 succumb every year of AIDS

Shimla, Dec 2 (UNI) As many as 4752 people identified with Human Immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome were residing in Himachal Pradesh presently, while the annual death rate due to the disease stood at 70 in the hill state, as compared to the national average of 58000.
