Animal husbandry to be key factor in MP’s self-reliance

Bhopal, Nov 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan averred on Sunday – during an online meeting of the special Cabinet constituted for bovine conservation – that cattle protection and promotion can become the basis for economic self-sufficiency, official sources said.
“Cow’s milk may be utilised extensively to combat the scourge of malnutrition while dung is the lifeline for agriculture and can translate into reduction in use of chemical fertiliser. By manufacturing gau-kasht on large scale, reliance on wood can be lessened and forests thus conserved. The departments of Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Panchayat and Rural Development, Home, Forest and Revenue will be entrusted with the responsibility,” the veteran leader observed.
