HP to go to PRI, ULB polls in Jan, 2021: CoM

Shimla, Oct 27 (UNI) The Panchayat Raj Institutions and the Urban Local Body polls (PRI/ULB) will be conducted in January, 2021 in Himachal Pradesh, the Council of Ministers (CoM) decided on Tuesday.
The Council of Ministers (CoM) decided to hold elections to the ULBs in the state (including newly-created Nagar Panchayats) and newly-created Municipal Corporations of Mandi, Solan and Palampur in January, 2021, after consultation with the State Election Commission, a spokesperson said here.
He said the elections to Municipal Corporation Dharamshala shall also be conducted with all ULBs in January, 2021, to avoid repetitive elections and associated expenditure.

Srinagar, Nov 28 (UNI) Traffic was on Saturday resumed on the 270-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway after remaining suspended on Friday for maintenance of the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.

Srinagar, Nov 28 (UNI) Traffic was resumed on the 434-km-long national highway, the only road connecting Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh with Kashmir valley, after remaining suspended for five days due to snowfall and slippery road conditions, a traffic police official said here.
