Shimla, Sep 8 (UNI) The opposition Congress on Tuesday staged a walkout from the Himachal pradesh state Assembly session following the decision of the Speaker to not allow grand-old party members to participate in the discussions.
As the Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar allowed the Health and Family Welfare Minister Rajiv Sehjal's to reply over the COVID situation, the Congress party demanded that they too should be allowed to speak on the same issue. Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said that since the Speaker allowed the minister to participate in the discussion, one of opposition members should also be allowed to speak, and requested that the time of the session be extended after 1700 hrs, however, the requests fell on deaf ears.
The House was discussing on the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation under rule 67, adjourning the entire business which started on Monday.
