Farmers should take up farming that is conducive to environment: Minister

Chandigarh, Jul 17 (UNI) Haryana Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Jai Prakash Dalal said that farmers should take up farming that is conducive to the environment to keep a check on pollution and to ensure a good crop yield.
Mr Dalal stated this after releasing a newsletter and calendar prepared by Haryana Kisan and Agricultural Costs and Prices Commission here on Friday.
He said that the farmers should gradually reduce the use of chemical fertilizers to ensure soil's health and should discontinue it completely. He said that the fertility of the soil is being destroyed due to the excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
