Agitating farmers shout slogans against Punjab BJP chief at Jalandhar

Jalandhar, Oct. 12 (UNI) Police have had a tough time to tackle the agitating farmers who were adamant to enter the Vijay Resorts in the area of Maqsudan where Punjab BJP chief Ashwini Sharma was convening the meeting of office bearers of the state unit of the party and other prominent leaders of the party.
The agitating farmers carrying banners in their hands rushed to the venue of the meeting after they received information that Ashwini Sharma was scheduled to address the meeting and that several leaders of the party are participating in the meeting.
They tried to enter the resort but the heavy contingents of the police deployed there prevented them from entering into the resort. The farmers then started dharna outside the resort and shouted anti BJP and anti Modi slogans.
