Kargil in Ladakh UT shuts on students strike call

Kargil, Jul 24 (UNI) Life was on Friday paralysed in Kargil in Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh due to strike called by student unions in support of their demands, including declaring results of District Service Selection Recruitment Board (DSSR) and allowing youths of the UT to appear in Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JKB) recruitment examination.
The strike call was supported by different political and religious parties of the UT. Meanwhile, All India Kargil Ladakh Student Union, Jammu, hailing from district Kargil has also called for a strike call on Friday in support of the demands of unemployed youth of the region.
Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in Kargil and other major towns and tehsil headquarters. Work in government offices was also affected.
