Dept action initiated against 17 cops in UP's Mahoba

Mahoba, Oct 10 (UNI) Departmental action has been initiated against 17 policemen, including three Inspectors of the Mahoba police on grave charges like corruption, laxity in duty and arbitrariness.
Additional Superintendent of Police RK Gautam on Saturday said here that Panwadi Station House Officer (SHO) Ashok Kumar Singh has been suspended for being unsuccessful in the arrest of wanted criminals and laxity in duty. This action has been taken by Chitakoot Dham Zone IG K Satyanarayan.
16 other policemen including two Inspectors deployed in the district--Devendra Shukla and Raju Singh--have been transferred. These policemen were posted in the district for a long time and were allegedly involved in illegal acts.
