Set up Night Shelters to protect poor & homeless from cold: CM directs officials

Lucknow, Nov 19(UNI) To provide a roof to the poor and homeless and protect them in view of the rising cold weather, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the setting up of Night shelters (Raine Baseras) across the state.
In a high-level meeting with senior officials on Friday, the Chief Minister instructed, “The Revenue Department and the Urban Development Department must ensure that adequate arrangements are made to provide the facility of night shelters in all municipal areas for poor homeless people.”
The Chief Minister has also directed the concerned authorities to ensure that the people sleeping on roads or footpaths are identified and are sent to the night shelters set up for them on an immediate basis.
