SHO among 20 booked in UP's Jaunpur for looting, vandalising hotel

Jaunpur, Jul 17 (UNI) A case has been registered against 20 people, including a Station House Officer (SHO), on charges of looting a hotel with an intention to claim possession of the land and vandalising it in Mungra Badshahpur police station area of this Uttar Pradesh district, official sources said here on Friday.
According to sources, Mungra Badshahpur resident Rajesh had given an application in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) under Section 156 (3) CRPC that some people in the area were claiming possession of the land of the poor and helpless people with the help of police.
The applicant submitted that on July 6, 15-20 individuals, carrying arms, entered his hotel. They carried out a loot and vandalised the hotel property. The miscreants also razed one of the walls of the hotel, while he was present Mr Rajesh alleged.
