SHO among 20 booked in UP's Jaunpur

Jaunpur, Jul 17 (UNI) The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) has registered a case against 20 people, including Station House Officer (SHO) Satya Prakash Singh, on charges of looting a hotel with an intention to claim possession of the land and vandalising it in the Mungrabadshahpur police station area of this Uttar Pradesh district, official sources said on Friday.
According to sources, Mungrabadshahpur resident Rajesh had given an application in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) under CRPC 156 (3) that there are some people active in the area who claim possession of the land of the poor and helpless people with the help of the police.
The application further stated that he was present in his hotel on July 6 when 15-20 individuals, carrying arms, entered the hotel. Rajesh has alleged that they carried out a loot and vandalised it. They also allegedly razed one of the walls of the hotel.
