Punjab govt releases Rs 2 cr ex-gratia to 'NOK' of Galwan valley martyrs

Chandigarh, Sep 10 (UNI) Recognizing the supreme sacrifice made by the martyrs of Galwan valley, Punjab government on Thursday released an amount of Rs 2 crore as ex-gratia, additional relief to parents and cash in lieu of plots for payment to the Next of Kin (NOK) of the martyred soldiers hailing from Punjab.
Stating this here, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the amount would be directly credited into the accounts of ‘NOK’ immediately.
Paying rich tributes to the martyrs, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh said that the grateful nation would never forget the sacrifice of these brave hearts and assured that the state government would always extend every assistance to the bereaved families.
