Over 100 fined for violating traffic rule, 57 for smoking at public places in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 3 (UNI) In its continued drive police booked 110 persons for violating traffic rules while 57 were challaned for smoking at public places in the summer capital, Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
He said during the day-long drive on Tuesday police acting tough on the violators of the Motor Vehicle Act and Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) in Srinagar conducted checking at several places.
With this, over 300 persons were challaned for violating traffic rules and more than 150 for smoking at public places in Srinagar during the past five days.
