HP: Rural Development Minister inspects proposed cow sanctuary site in Kangra

Dharamshala, Sep 5 (UNI) Rural Development Panchayati Raj Minister Virendra Kanwar on Saturday said that under the Prevention of Cow slaughter Act in Himachal Pradesh, a provision of 5 years rigorous imprisonment or a fine of Rs 50 thousand has been made for cow slaughter but the state government will amend the Act as required and the law can be further tightened.
He said that the State Government has resolved to make Himachal Pradesh destitute animal free by March 2021. The Minister said this while speaking after inspecting the proposed site of Gau Century near the PWD rest house at Old Kangra in Kangra on Saturday.
