Chandigarh, Aug 28 (UNI) Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala requested the GST Council to pay the state’s compensation of Rs 5840 crore at the earliest which has been pending for the last four months.
While participating in the 41st GST Council from here through video conferencing, Mr Chautala requested the Central Government to provide maximum financial support to Haryana, as COVID-19 has adversely affected the economy of the state. He demanded that the loss of revenue should be compensated to the States even after the period of 5-years of GST which culminates in 2022.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur, besides other senior officials were also present during the video conferencing.
