Haryana : Mapping of past enmity hotspots results in 17 pc decline of potential murder incidents

Chandigarh, Aug 27 (UNI) A special campaign for mapping of past enmity hotspots carried out by Haryana Police has resulted in an estimated 17 per cent decline of potential murder incidents.
Stating this here on Thursday, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk informed that police had conducted mapping from July 2 to July 15, 2019 across the State to identify and analyse the cases where there is a past enmity and probability of it resulting into a violent incident or murder.
Police teams systematically studied the records about ‘personnel vendetta or enmity’ in 178 potential murder/clash points, and thereafter monitored them regularly. This led to a decline of 31 murder cases, when compared to earlier such period, he informed.
