Haryana Dy CM directs officers to repair boundary walls, approach roads etc under MGNREGA

Chandigarh, Oct 14 (UNI) Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has directed the officers to repair the boundary walls, approach roads, playgrounds and the morning prayer meeting area as per requirement of government schools in their respective districts under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA).
The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Rural Development, said that the state government has tried to employ as many people as possible under MGNREGA during COVID-19. Elaborating on it further, he said that it is for the first time that under MGNREGA, the water bodies of the villages are being cleaned and sheds for animals of poor people and bio-gas plants are being set up.
The Deputy Chief Minister further asserted that the approach roads of government schools in the state which are not maintained will be repaired by the labourers. Apart from this, works will be done in school playgrounds where there is a need to refill sand and to raise permanent structure. He said that the officers have been given instructions to timely finish the basic work of government schools in the state which are pending due to financial constraints, under MGNREGA. This will provide work to the job-card holders and will expedite the development work of the schools benefitting the students and staff.
