Chhattisgarh emerges as cleanest state in Sanitation Survey

Raipur, Aug 20 (UNI) According to National Sanitation Survey results announced by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry on Thursday, Chhattisgarh has emerged to be the cleanest state in the country.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr Bhupesh Baghel and Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Daharia received the award at hands of Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Mr Hardeep Singh Puri at the virtual online award ceremony. This was the first national award ceremony organized online. Union Minister Mr Puri congratulated Chief Minister Mr Baghel and Urban Development Minister Dr Dahria on outstanding performance of Chhattisgarh in Sanitation Survey.
Chhattisgarh has performed excellently in the Sanitation Survey 2020, while many small and big cities of the state have gained national fame. Patan Nagar Panchayat has got the status of the cleanest city of the country in the category of ‘population less than 25 thousand’. Similarly, Jashpurnagar has secured the top position in the country in the Sanitation Survey, under the category of population 25 to 50 thousand, Dhamtari won the cleanest city award in population of 50 thousand to 01 lakh category and Ambikapur has got the status of the cleanest city in the country in the category of population 01 to 10 lakh.
