UP: Worker dies in steel factory as cluster roll falls on him

Muzaffarnagar, Jun 18 (UNI) An employee of the Uttar Pradesh Steel Factory died after a cluster roll fell on him in the Mansoorpur area of Muzaffarnagar district on Thursday.
Police sources here said that Ravi, a resident of Begrajpur village in the Mansoorpur area, was an employee at the UP Steel Factory. He was on duty, this morning when a big cluster roll fell upon him, resulting in his death on the spot.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the family members of the deceased created an uproar in the factory along with the local people. Mansoorpur police reached the spot and started an investigation into the accident.
Later, the family of the deceased and factory management had a talk on the matter.
Meanwhile, in a mutual agreement between senior leaders of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), Raju Ahlawat, Vinay Bhardwaj, a large number of BKU workers and the administration of the UP Steel Factory, the matter was settled after an assurance by the latter that a compensation of Rs 20 lakh will be paid to the family of the deceased along with a pension of Rs 11,500 and providing the brother of the deceased with a job in the factory.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Satpal Antil, Circle Officer (Khatauli) Ashish Pratap Singh, Inspector (Khatauli) Santosh Tyagi and Mansoorpur police station in-charge Manoj Chahal were present along with other police officials at the spot.
