Rampur (UP), July 22 (UNI) Four persons were killed and 50 others were injured when two buses collided with each other in Milak area of Rampur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that due to the first Monday of Sawan month traffic on Lucknow-Delhi highway 24 in the district has been made one-way. "At around 4 am in the morning, a Janrath bus of Sahibabad depot going from Lucknow to Delhi collided with a private bus going from Haridwar to Shravasti near Bhairav Baba temple," they said.
Police sources said that both the buses were damaged in the incident. "While 18 passengers were sent to the community health centre, 32 having serious injuries were admitted to the district hospital where four injured died during treatment," they said.
District Magistrate Jogendra Singh and Superintendent of Police (SP) Vidya Sagar Mishra reached the spot after getting information.
DM Singh said that the deceased include driver of Janrath bus of Sahibabad depot. Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) Dr HK Mitra said that a passenger Ram Manohar had died before reaching the hospital.
He said that another passenger Hari Ram died during treatment. "Total four persons died in the incident," he said.
