Sriganganagar, Feb 13 (UNI) Six people were killed and around a dozen injured when a truck-trailer collided with a cruiser in Rajiyasar police station area of this Rajasthan district on Saturday.
Station in-charge Vikram Tiwari said about 20 people from two families were en route to Bikaner in the cruiser when it collided with the oncoming trailer near Sri Vijayanagar phata, one km from Rajiyasar police station on National Highway 62 at 0930 hrs.
While six people lost their lives, dozens were injured in the incident who were rushed to the Primary Health Center in Rajiyasar which referred them to Sriganganagar and Bikaner.
Police said the condition of half a dozen people is stated to be very critical. The dead included women and children and the death toll is expected to rise.
People aboard the cruiser vehicle are said to be from Kishanpura Utrada, a village under Sangaria police station area in Hanumangarh district, who left for Bikaner in the morning.
Traffic on the highway has been disrupted due to the accident. Police on the spot are also taking action to restore traffic by getting the crashed vehicles to the side.
