Punjab: Two burnt alive in car accident

Hoshiarpur, Nov 15 (UNI) A senior advocate and his assistant was burnt alive when their car caught fire after it met with an accident near Phagwara By-pass chowk here on late Saturday, it was learnt on Sunday.
According to the police sources, the deceased identified as Senior lawyer Bhagwant Kishore Gupta (62) of local Model Town and his assistant Siya Khullar (37), wife of Ashish Kumar of local Mount Enclave area were going towards Chandigarh from Hoshiarpur in their car No. PB-065Z-2281.
On the way, their car rammed into a tree near Phagwara by-pass chowk. It is suspected that after the accident the central locking system of the car jammed and it caught fire. The persons inside the car could not succeed in escaping from the burning car and they were charred to death.
