Teeanager dies due to drowning, another rescued in north Kashmir

Baramulla, Aug 4 (UNI) A teenager died due to drowning while another was saved and rescued from a water body on Tuesday in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said.
Two teenagers identified as Sameen Shabir (15) and Firdous Ahmad (16), residents of Nowpora were taking bath in Madhumati Nallah at Kulsoo in Bandipora when they were drowned. However, locals and police immediately launched a rescue operation, they said adding both the teenagers were rescued and taken to hospital.
Sameen Shabir died while treatment of Firdous was going on, they said. Youths are taking bath in the Madhumati nallah despite ban imposed by the district administration. However, people demanded patrolling by police to prevent such incidents in future.
