New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi today hit out at the Modi Government, questioning the way it went about concluding the Nagland peace accord with NSCN(IM) group without concerting the Chief Ministers of north-eastern states. "It is an insult to the people of the state. It shows the arrogance of the Government,' Ms Gandhi said talking to reporters in Parliament premises where she led the party protest against suspension of its 25 MPs from the Lok Sabha. She said the voice of the three states--Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh was not heard, whereas the government always went on claiming that it wanted to take along all together with its slogan of 'Sab ka saath sab Ka vikas'. The way the Government had overlooked the views of the three states was also an insult to the federal structure of the Constitution which the Government swears by, she said. When pointed out that the Prime Minister had described the accord as historic, she said,' May be . It might be historic, but the Chief Ministers of Assam, Manipur and other states should have been taken on board. The accord, which the Government said would lead to an end of six decades long insurgency, was signed this week. UNI NAZ RG SY 1126
