New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday said former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be remembered for his exemplary role in nurturing the politics of Sangh Parivar and its values from infant stage.
Mr Bhagwat was addressing a prayer meeting organised at Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium here.
He said, "I have not interacted directly with him as much the likes of LK Advani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have done. But his life will remain an inspiration."
Referring to poems penned by Vajpayee, Mr Bhagwat said in one of his works, the late Prime Minister displayed his humility when he said "I should not attain that much height in my life that I stopped meeting my own people."
"Vajpayeeji truly carried with him the virtues of a true swayamsevak who tires to take everyone along," he said.
A man like him can only make Bharat Mahan, Mr Bhagwat said.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh also remembered Vajpayee. "Vajpayeeji was the first Prime Minister who successfully ran a coalition government in the country," he said.
